That account will be blocked instantly so that no money can be removed until you go to reopen the account.
If it is your ATM card that is missing, you may have to transfer some money quickly using your bank app or transfer code on your phone to your other account (if you have another) before locking the account. Once it is locked, nobody can access the account until you go to the bank to reopen it.
